Handmade in London.
A passion for creating and making Jewellery developed from trying out evening classes in my early 20’s. So taken was I with the therapeutic process of making and learning techniques that I started a journey to become a professional Jeweller. A two year HND course at Epsom School of Art and Design in 1990 was followed by a post-graduate course at Glasgow School of Art. I then spent a year at the newly opened Bishopsland Education trust, now a well established artist residency for graduate students.
Whilst establishing my career in my Hoxton studio I began working for Dazzle Jewellery exhibitions and managed their Manchester exhibition. Alongside this were teaching posts including many years teaching Jewellery at Kensington and Chelsea Adult Education college. In 1998 I opened @ Work Jewellery Gallery on Brick Lane, London with my former studio sharer Adele Tipler. Our second branch was opened in 2006 in Pimlico, London and continues to establish itself as one of the leading outlets for Contemporary Jewellery in the U.K. We curate regular exhibitions and currently stock around 80 U.K and International Jewellery Designers.
I am still doing regular teaching courses information for which can be found on our Gallery website (www.atworkgallery.co.uk) as well as one to one private tuition. We do a lot of bespoke orders for our clients and have a well established in-house repairs service (contact me for repairs work).
In the last three years, alongside my silver and gold jewellery collection I have collaborated with my business partner Adele to launch a recycled Jewellery brand: Jewellery Junkie (www.jewelleryjunkie.co.uk) The brand sells within our own gallery and we currently have two other outlets.
When I am not running the Pimlico Jewellery Gallery I am in my workshop in Vauxhall designing and making my silver Jewellery range, I hope you like it!
